The studio

Ashton Ink is a tattoo studio and small gallery based in Ashton Centre. Founded by Symone Urbanek and moved into new ownership of artist Drew Macleod in 2026.

The studio has always maintained, and keeps a friendly and safe atmosphere, free to discuss any and all ideas you might have and will pride itself on keeping that tradition. Come in to chat about any and every idea you may have, or just come in to view any of the artwork on display in our small – and growing – gallery area.

The artist

Drew takes his influence from a wide range of primarily Japanese artists and concept artists. Studying Shodo calligraphy and Sumi painting, the majority of his tattoo work is based on those motifs. Open to discussing any style you may bring in, and always open to talking new ideas.

Our approach

Every tattoo we do is a with the client in mind. We work in a variety of different styles, always happy to chat about bringing any ideas you have to life as a tattoo. We’ll sit down, look at your ideas, and figure out how to make a piece of art that you’re going to love wearing for the rest of your life.

The gallery

Our gallery area has all work done by artist Drew Macleod/Sway tattoo. It’s a wide range of work from oil paintings to Japanese calligraphy and Sumi style painting, taking influence from his favourite artists and concept artists.

All work is for sale and commissions are always open.
